SUNFLOWER FAQ

When are you open?

We plan to be open August 14-16 and 21-23, 10 am to 4 pm. However, Mother Nature sometimes throws us a curve ball. The season may include the weekend before and/or after that. Check our Event Calendar for details.

Will you be open at night?

Yes, we will be open for our Twilight Sunflower Experience on Friday August 14th and 21st, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Plan for a picnic dinner, and check our Event Calendar for offerings.

Is there and admission fee?

Yes our admission covers access to our sunflower field, some activities, and one free sunflower bloom to take home!

Can I cut additional blooms?

Sanitized clippers are provided. Our friendly staff will trim your bouquet, place in a leak proof bag of water and secure with a zip tie. All proceeds of additional blooms will go to Camp Good Days and Special Times. Check out our Ticket page for prices. Be sure to join our e-newsletter or our Facebook page for great discounts!

What is there to do?

Stokoe Farms offers a beautiful sunflower field with over 250,000 sunflower blooms from the palest yellow to a deep velvet red. Guests are able to hike our Christmas tree fields, or explore our Tall Pines Nature Trail. Some of our popular fall activities are available, include; newly expanded low ropes course, bounce pillows, giant slides, Billy Goat Mountain, Farmer Browns bin and cargo climb, wagon rides and games. Some of our friendly farm animals will be in their summer pasture, just a short walk from our spectacular sunflower fields! *Activities are subject to current NYS Covid mandates.

Do you have restrooms?

Yes, we have beautiful full service restrooms with changing stations in our main courtyard. Additional portable restrooms, changing station and a hand wash station are available at the sunflower field.

Is there food available for purchase?

Yes, there sure is! Our food truck will be conveniently placed near our sunflower field so that you can enjoy lunch or a snack. Options will include wraps, burgers, donuts, kettle corn and Mini Melts ice cream cups. Stokoe Farms will also be offering our fresh squeezed lemonade and even local craft brews, wine slushies and sangria.

Can I bring my dog? 

Sorry no dogs allowed during Sunflower and Fall seasons. We abide by USDA rules regarding food crops and pets, and follow Good Agricultural Practices. However, we do love dogs during our Christmas tree season when all our crops are harvested!

What are Stokoe Farms hours?

Stokoe Farms hours of operations and dates can be found on our dynamic calendar.

Is there an admission to get into Stokoe Farms?

Stokoe Farms Harvest Fest weekend and Columbus Day weekend admission is $15.95 per person. Children 2 and under are FREE. October weekday admission prices are $10 per person, not all activities available.

*Please note that Columbus Day and the Friday before is weekend pricing, all activities open.

What if I don’t plan on doing any activities, do I still have to pay admission?

Stokoe Farms is an admission based farm. We have activities for all ages and activity levels. We promise that you will have a great time at our fun picturesque farm.  

Where is Stokoe Farms located?

Stokoe Farms is located 15 minutes south of Rochester at 656 South Road, Scottsville.

Can my family bring our dog to Stokoe Farms?

Sorry, due to USDA restrictions we cannot allow dogs during Harvest Fest. However, well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome at Christmas time. All service dogs must check in at the main barn, and present proof of rabies vaccination. A service animal is defined as a dog that’s individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a qualified individual with a disability.

Do you offer discounts?

Stokoe Farms offers discounts for active duty and retired military personnel and their families with ID. We also offer discounts for seniors. Corporate, scout and youth groups, please call for discount.

Join our newsletter for $2 off per person discount in September and for other special offers.

Are there group rates?

Stokoe Farms offers group rates, corporate rates and days, as well as discounts for churches, youth groups, scouts, sorority/fraternity and colleges. Pre-registration is required.

Do you have pumpkins?

YES! We are a pumpkin farm. We have pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, varieties and colors. We also offer a large variety of gourds and several varieties of squash. Did you know you can decorate with squash? It makes a great addition to your front porch!

Do you offer parties at Stokoe Farms?

We have great parties! Stokoe Farms offers several birthday party packages, as well as reserved tables for family reunions, church groups, and gatherings. We can also custom design a party package to meet your needs, some of which include food and beverages. Contact julie@stokoefarms.com for detail, and check out our party page.

Are there restrooms?

Yes, Stokoe Farms offers a heated restroom building in the courtyard next to the barns, including a family restroom with changing facility. Additional port-a-johns are located in the lower 40 activities area.

Is there any food or drink for sale at the farm?

We offer several locations on the farm to purchase reasonably prices food and drinks. The farm serves cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, and caramel apple wedges just to name a few items. We are known for our cider apple donuts, made fresh all day long right here on the farm!

One of my family members had dietary restrictions; can we bring food into the farm?

Our guests are able to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks into the farm. Coolers should be kept in the car as we don’t have storage areas that are attended.

Once in the farm, can we return to our car and still be admitted back in?

Stokoe Farms uses a colored wristband system for admission. Once in the farm you may return to your vehicle as many times as you need and enter back through our VIP line.

What is Stokoe Farms Rain Policy?

Rochester weather can change mighty quickly. Don’t worry, we have you covered! We wouldn’t want a little rain to spoil your day. So if at any point during your visit, it begins to rain, Stokoe Farms will gladly issue you a rain check to be used another day. Simply bring your receipt to admission and one of our team members will take care of you. Rain checks can be used any day we are open during the current season. Adults must show ID upon return.


How do I schedule a birthday party?

Is a deposit required to book a party at Stokoe Farms?

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your party. The balance is due at the end of the party. Our party coordinator will be able to handle this transaction for you.

How many people are included with a party?

We offer two party packages, and can customize to work within your budget. Party packages can be found on the Brithday Party Page or feel free to give us a call at 889-0770.

What time should I arrive?

For morning parties (10:30 to 1:30) you should arrive at 10:00. For Afternoon parties (2:00 to 5:00) you should arrive to your table at 1:30. Remember you can be on the farm all day!

What do I need to bring for my party?

Yourself! Well maybe some presents! Stokoe Farms provides plates, napkins, cups, two slices of pizza per child, balloons on the table, pie pumpkin favors, and of couse all the fun! We have utensils and serving knives for your convenience. You are welcome to bring any decorations/themed items, additonal food and drinks and cake. Please no glass containers.

What if it rains?

No problem! We can reschedule your party for another day, or you can still come and enjoy our covered barn. There is still a lot of fun to have!

Does the party coordinator stay with us the entire day?

Our party coordinator will be in the barn to help make your party a success. They will make sure your pizza arrives on time, you have all your paper products, schedule your birthday song sung by our Hillbilly Hens, and help clean up. Your group will go out and play on our activities at your leisure, unless you choose the Great Pumpkin Package. Call for more details.

I have several adults, can I order more pizza?

Sure! We can order additional pizza for your from our local Mark's Pizzeria. Call for details.

How do my guests get into the farm?

Please direct your guests to the VIP entrance clearly marked to the right of the main barn. Our friendly cashiers will check their names off your guest list, give them a wristband, and direct them to your party table.

Why do I have to send in a party list?

Your guest list must arrive to us the Thursday before your party. This ensures smooth admission to the farm for your guests, and allows you to greet them at your reserved table in the Harvest Barn.

Sorry no. We suggest sending an interactive e-vite.

TREE FAQ

What is there to do at Christmas?

We offer u-cut and pre-cut Christmas trees. Due to Covid-19, Christmas tree season will look different than past years. See our Christmas Tree page for all the details.

When are you open?

We are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm, beginning November 21st. Check out our Event Calendar page for all dates and times.

Is there and admission fee?

Admission is FREE during the Christmas tree season.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome during Christmas. Sorry dogs are not allowed in any of the buildings. Be considerate of others, please pick up after your pet. We ask that you and your dog be respectful of other farm guests and our farm animals.

Is there food available for purchase?

Yes, our Old Barn Grill is open for services. Don’t forget Stokoe Farms famous Apple Cider Donuts and sweet and salty Kettle Corn are made fresh daily.

Try our delicious fudge, made with real butter. Take home your favorite flavors. The perfect gift!

Yes, we have heated restrooms. They are located behind the straw fort, and includes a family restroom with changing facilities.

Do I need to bring my own saw?

Stokoe Farms provides hand saws for your convenience, but we are recommneding that you bring you own hand saw or BATTERY POWERED SAW. ABSOLUTELY NO GAS POWERED saws allowed.

Do you offer rope to tie down my tree?

Yes, Stokoe Farms provides complementary twine.
